WHY THRIFT?

I get it. Th-rifting is a turn off for many people. For some the thought of wearing clothing that someone else has worn is unimaginable. The idea that second hand clothing which should be given to the homeless and less fortunate is being sold by businesses for profit. And third, they just can’t stand the smell of going into those places.    I hear this all the time. Well to settle the minds of some. " Second hand clothing is not for everyone".    Used clothing can be cleaned using basic washing detergents and cleaners. The amount of  clothing given  away or donated is more than enough to help the homeless all over the world and then some. Another fact is purchasing clothing from a thrift, vintage or any second hand store is environmentally friendly and also helps with sustainability. Tons of clothing and materials are recycled which eliminates waste that is polluting landfills.  We live in such a throwaway society. If it's not the latest

The Joy of Thrifting. My find of the day!

Found this vintage coat the other day. What caught my eye from a distance was the fur collar that told me immediately it was vintage. Then that beautiful fuchsia color.  I immediately grabbed it and placed it in my cart. I live in Florida however I have to take advantage every now and then when we have our little cold spells. Otherwise tak a trip to visit family up north. There were some slight alterations but nothing that needed a lot of attention. Besides, the coat was only $6.99.
