During Quarantine Use What's Close To You

Hey guys Its been over 8 weeks since we've been able to hit those streets shopping and visiting our local retailers, let alone thrift stores. And since I'm a reseller of second hand items, I look to the Salvation Army's, Goodwill's and local Mom and Pop thrift stores for inventory. And with this recent pandemic I've been limited in restocking my inventory. But all has not failed! I decided like many of you to do a closet cleanse, garage cleaning and some reorganizing around the house which allowed me to come across some items that I no longer need, haven't worn or totally forgot I had that can be sold. I realized how much stuff I had stored away, for "what?

I also had some (dead piles). For those of you that are not familiar with the term. Dead piles is a term used by resellers of purchased items set aside for whatever reason maybe for cleaning or repairs and never listed on their selling platforms. I also was able to catch up on some crafty DIY's as well as tap in to my artistic skills. It interesting to know there are so many things you can do when you have the extra time to do them. You don't even have to go out. They are close to you.

While going through my garage I came across these lovely vintage hand bags. I purchased them throughout the years and it only reminded me to stop procrastinating and get my Etsy Vintage shop going.

In my dead pile I had these Claudia Ciuti Jeweled Slides. The same day I posted them on my Poshmark page they sold right away.

I also found this Metallic gold long sleeved shirt which is very much on  trend. I contemplated giving it away but fought off the urge. It too is listed on my Poshmark page.

This lovely bag also stored away was listed on my Poshmark page and within a couple of days it sold!

I also dug into my artistic skills. It amazes me how better I get even after not doing it for so long.

With that being said, I'm not sure what it is you are doing to occupy your time during this quarantine. But just take some time to reflect and see what you already have stored in your closets, in your heart or in your mind to do. Maybe its that craft project or hobby you never had time for? Cook your favorite dish, or get focused on your health. Although we are at home, its at home where things are close to you where you can become creative and utilize precious moments. They may never come again.

  1. You've been busy!
I love your practical common-sense, creativity, and style.
That metallic gold long sleeved shirt looks very pretty, classy and eye-catching.
You must look fabulous wearing it.
I also love the look and style of your artwork.
When I reflect on the outfit pieces I've meant to feature in blog posts but haven't gotten to it reminds me of just how prone I am to procrastination - and how lazy I am.
I also love the look and style of your artwork - you are very talented.
Your ideas for utilising our precious moments while we are at home, and the sentiments to appreciate them are excellent!

Vintage gown with Designer Vibes

Vintage Gown with Designer Vibes This vintage piece caught my eye immediately when I spotted it hanging from the rack. It was mixed in the summer dress section. The hardware has this Versace vibe and a  deep thigh split. It made me a little apprehensive but I figured I could close up the split to my comfortability. No way was I going to leave it. Besides it was half off $7.99. YES!!!Someone must have eyed it from the formal wear section and later decided they did not want it. I decided to take a chance and purchase it without even trying it on. It just looked like it would fit. Got it home and it fit like a glove. Even the split was ok without having to alter it. Oh well it was just meant for me. I wonder if the person who first spotted it later had non purchase remorse.

How Do You Use Your Imagination With Accessory Pieces?

I'm always curious when I go thrifting, how to use a piece I purchase and turn it into a not just one way to wear item. If I purchase a blouse how many ways can it be worn other than the basic way? On or off the shoulder, worn in the front or in the back. When purchasing a scarf I can wear it around my neck, maybe on my head perhaps even as a top. I'll spot a vintage chunky belt, it would be cool to wear as a necklace. The other day I found this sequined skirt that was longer than I would normally wear. Thought about cutting it  but it would take away from its unique hem and design. Fortunately the waist was elasticized so I was able to pull it up toward my chest and wear it as a dress. Turned out AWESOME. So I challenge you the next time you are ready to spend your coins wherever you shop, think of way to stretch those dollars. Not only that by using your imagination you'll; find yourself wearing pieces in a way that will add dimension to your wardrobe.
